Will the governments new smoking inniative lead to younsters stopping smoking. Not so according to teenagers talking to the BBC. I would have to tend to agree with youngsters speaking. The majority of people who do smoke, don't start at the age of 16- they start a lot younger. For Example, I was considered a relative late starter, when I had my first fag at the age of 15. Since then I haven't been a able to stop. Does this make me a bad person- I'd like to think not. However, from a smokers perspective I am starting to see a clear victimsation toward smokers from the government. Sure, cigarettes are dirty, they smell and (according to some) kill people; they are also the sweetest sensation in the world. That first cigarette of the day- better than sex (not that I get much sex to compare it with).
I hear you ask how are smokers being victimised against. Well there are number of reasons: the constant years of slowly increasing taxes- since I've been smoking a pack of cheap snout has gone up at least 40p; the smoking ban; now the increased age of smoking. In addition, smoking whilst driving is now pretty much illegal. Are these endless acts of Big Brotherness really going to stop people smoking. They may help some people cut down. However they won't actually stop people smoking. For example, do people stop doing drugs because they are illegal- of course they don't. The reason it is called an addiction is because it is addictive. Thus, the only way to wean people of smoking is to offer a good alternative. Nicotine patches/gum does not work simply because they are not nice. In addition the smoking action is just as important as the actual smoke for some. It is therfore ridiculous to think that just by creating new laws will make people quit- as is shown in the BBC news article. These youngsters will always find some way of getting their fags, as under 16's have been doing for years. I therefore feel that the new government is just a basic infringment of human rights and should never have been implemented.

As I'm back in on my online course, I feel that I should write another blog. What should I write about? How about the footie results? Go for it. First of all, United won. Fan-f'ing-tastic (Can't swear, bloody classroom blog (bloody is not a swearword)). Anywho, 1-0 win against Birmingham which continues our winning run. My one problem with people from Birmingham is the fact that they have such boring accents. I hear a Brummie on T.V. or radio, and I seriously want to kill myself. Not literaly, but getting there. I don't know what they should do to stop it- prehaps I'll start turning the volume down when they appear. The problem is, they look relativly normal. I guess my only solution is to stop watching T.V. F'ing brummies, they just try and make my life hell.
Other big result over the weekend was the 11 goal thriller between Pompey and Reading. That is right, 11 goals. At least they can't moan about not getting enough coverage on Match Of The Day. Pompey ended by winning the match by 3 goals. For those of you good at maths, that is a 7-4 win. For those who got that right, give yourselves a pat on the back. The best result of the weekend had to be dirty Chelsea dropping more points. They haven't scored a league goal in 4 games- is this what Abramovic(sp.) wanted by sexy football. AND that club has ruined the best Ukranian to have ever played. What happened to you, Sheva? P.s I'm part Ukranian so it's in my heart about how he is treated.
Other results: Arsenal 1-0 West Ham, Gooners sneaking a lucky win; Liverpool 1-0 Wigan, dirty Scousers sneaking a lucky win; City 3- 1 Newcastle, damn Geordies can't even beat City these days- not good; Blackburn 2-1 Sunderland, Hughes coming out on top in battle of true Utd legends; Derby 1-1 Bolton, shody result for both teams; Everton 2-0 Middlesborough- good win for the clean Scousers.

Punk Football- Journalism
Is the blog entitled Punk Football real journalism? Although I'm quite new to the subject I think it is. The reason for this is because the blogger doesn't actually write the stories himself. Oh no, he generally steals from newspapers, usually the Manchester Evening News. The problem with the blog title is that it appears to deceipt funny or crazy aspects of the beautiful game. It doesn't, however. Instead it is a review of F.C United, the "fans" team created, by those who were opposed to the Glazer takeover of Manchester United. It can be very useful for those who support the small club. This is because it gives reviews of each game and any other information that has been published about the club, in various publications. The one downside to the blog is that it is quite biased toward F.C United and and doesn't appear to give a reflection for both sides. This is however quite understandable, primarlly because it appears to be a blog by and for F.C United fans.

I've got to do a blog for my online journalism class, but I don't really know what to talk about. Drink and Drugs probably aren't the best things to talk about, as I'm in a classroom. According to the tutours drugs are bad, as are drinks. Although I've seen them all drunk at least once.... quite a few times if I'm being honest.
As you can probably tell from my picture, I love Man Utd.
